Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and protect information when you use our Google Calendar–integrated backend service (the "Service") within the ChatGPT Apps ecosystem. The Service enables calendar conflict detection, meeting resolution workflows, and management of pending calendar invitations through conversational interactions in ChatGPT.

2. Scope and Role

The Service is a backend application invoked by ChatGPT and does not operate as a standalone consumer application. ChatGPT provides the user-facing interface, while the Service processes authenticated requests and responses related to Google Calendar data. This Privacy Policy applies solely to data processed by the Service.

3. Information We Collect

We collect and process the following categories of information:

Authentication data: OAuth tokens and related credentials issued by Google to access your Google Calendar.
Google Calendar data: Event metadata necessary to provide the Service, including event titles, descriptions, start and end times, locations, organizers, attendees, RSVP statuses, calendar identifiers, and event status.
Request and usage data: Technical logs such as timestamps, endpoint calls, error reports, and idempotency identifiers required to operate and secure the Service.

We do not intentionally collect personal information unrelated to calendar functionality.

4. How We Use Information

We use information solely to:

• Authenticate and authorize access to Google Calendar on your behalf.
• Detect overlapping calendar events and unresolved invitations.
• Present conflict and invitation data to you via ChatGPT.
• Apply user-authorized actions such as accepting, declining, tentatively responding to, or rescheduling events.
• Maintain reliability, security, and performance of the Service.

We do not use calendar data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

5. Google Calendar Access and Permissions

Access to Google Calendar is granted through Google OAuth 2.0 within the ChatGPT Apps environment. The Service requests only the minimum scopes necessary to perform its functions, including full calendar access where required for conflict resolution and RSVP updates. You may revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings.

6. User Control and Event Changes

All changes to calendar events are initiated explicitly by you through ChatGPT. The Service does not independently modify events. Any RSVP changes or rescheduling actions are performed only in response to your instructions and may impact other meeting participants.

7. Data Retention

Calendar data is processed in real time whenever possible and is not stored beyond what is necessary to fulfill requests. OAuth tokens are stored securely and retained only for the duration required to maintain authorized access, subject to refresh and revocation. Logs and derived metadata are retained for limited periods for operational, security, and compliance purposes, then deleted or anonymized.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. We share data only:

• With infrastructure and service providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations.
• As required by law or legal process.
• To protect the security and integrity of the Service.

We do not allow third parties to use Google Calendar data for independent purposes.

9. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect calendar data and authentication credentials. Despite these measures, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on Google Calendar APIs and OpenAI's ChatGPT Apps platform. Your use of Google and OpenAI services is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for the data practices or availability of those third-party services.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law), and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service or legal requirements. Updates will be made available through the Service or associated documentation. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.

13. Contact Information

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us using the support contact information provided within the ChatGPT application or related Service documentation.
